About Jack
Master Stylist and extensions specialist — ten years in London salons, now behind the chair in Wānaka.
Jack joins UKIYO from London, where he was named Extensions Specialist of the Year 2023 by Hairdressers Journal. He spent those years between Samantha Cusick in Notting Hill and Hadley Yates in Covent Garden, building a reputation for extensions you genuinely cannot see.
He's a master stylist first and an extensions specialist second, and that's exactly why the work sits so well. Every set is cut, blended and shaped into the hair you already have, so it moves like it grew there.
Specialties
Extensions, and the cutting that makes them disappear.
Individual bonds placed strand by strand, for length, thickness or both. This is Jack's speciality and the method he's known for — fitted so they sit flat, move freely and stay invisible when you tie your hair up. See the full extensions guide.
A lighter, faster option for fine hair or a first set. Less commitment than bonds, with the same attention to where every piece sits. More on tape-in extensions.
The part most people skip. Jack cuts every set into your own hair so there's no shelf, no join and no obvious line. This is what separates extensions that look expensive from extensions that look applied.
He's a stylist before he's a specialist. Cuts shaped around your texture and how you actually wear your hair — extensions or not.
In Jack's chair
Jack will tell you honestly whether extensions are right for your hair, what they'll cost to maintain, and what they'll look like growing out — before you commit to anything. Every set starts with a consultation, never a sale.
Book with Jack
Extensions always start with a consultation so Jack can match your hair, quote it properly and book the right amount of time.
Book a consultation online and Jack will match your hair, talk you through bond or tape, and quote the hair itself separately. The fitting is booked with him directly once you've decided.
