Penetraitt is Sebastian's repair range for hair that's been through it: lots of colour, lightening, or daily heat. It's for lengths that feel weak, rough or tangle easily, and we often suggest it to clients between colour appointments.
Which Penetraitt product, and how we use it +
Start with the Rescue Repair Shampoo and Conditioner as your everyday wash; they're gentle on damaged lengths and help with detangling. Once a week, use the Rescue Repair Mask in place of the conditioner and give it a few minutes before rinsing.
The Overnight Rescue Repair Serum is a leave-in you apply to dry or damp lengths before bed, so it works while you sleep without making hair feel heavy the next day. If breakage and snapping are the main problem, NO.BREAKER's bond-building routine may be the better fit. Our Penetraitt guide explains how the range works. It's all genuine salon stock from our Wānaka studio, posted NZ-wide, with free shipping on orders over $75.
Questions we get asked +
Is Sebastian Penetraitt shampoo good for every wash?
Yes. The Rescue Repair Shampoo is gentle enough to use every time you wash, and it's designed to work on damaged, coloured hair. Pair it with the Rescue Repair Conditioner for detangling. How often you wash depends on your scalp, not the shampoo; most coloured hair does best with two or three washes a week.
What's the difference between the Penetraitt masque and the conditioner?
The conditioner is the everyday step, lighter and quick to rinse. The Rescue Repair Mask (often searched as the masque) is the deeper weekly treatment. It's thicker and is designed to sit on the hair for a few minutes. Use one or the other in a wash, not both. Very damaged hair can use the mask twice a week.
How do I use the Penetraitt Overnight Rescue Repair Serum?
Before bed, put a small amount through the mid-lengths and ends of dry or slightly damp hair. Keep it away from your roots. Sleep as normal and style in the morning; there's no need to wash it out. A silk pillowcase or loose plait helps too if your ends tangle overnight.
Is Penetraitt suitable for blonde or lightened hair?
Yes, it's one of the ranges we suggest most to blondes between appointments, because lightening is what leaves hair rough and weak. If you also need to manage brassiness, keep a toning shampoo for once a week and use Penetraitt the rest of the time. If your lightened hair is snapping, look at NO.BREAKER first.
