Kérastase Blond Absolu

Blond Absolu is the Kérastase range for blonde, lightened and grey hair. It does two jobs: keeping brassy yellow tones in check, and looking after hair that's been through bleach. Most of our blonde clients at UKIYO go home with at least one piece of it.

Which Blond Absolu product, and how we use it +

Bain Ultra-Violet is the purple shampoo. Use it once or twice a week when you see warmth creeping in, and the Masque Ultra-Violet if you want more toning. On the other washes, Cicaflash Fondant is the conditioner we recommend most for bleached hair; it detangles and leaves lengths soft without flattening them.

Cicaplasme is a leave-in that protects before heat styling, and Cicanuit is a night serum for dry, sensitised ends. It's Kérastase's range for lightened, highlighted and grey hair. Bain Ultra-Violet tones out yellow and brassy tones, while Cicaflash, Cicaplasme and the masks condition hair that lightening has left dry and rough.

How often should I use Bain Ultra-Violet?
Most blondes use it once or twice a week, swapping it with a gentle shampoo the rest of the time. If your blonde starts looking dull or slightly lilac, use it less often.

Which Blond Absolu product should I buy first?
If brassiness is the problem, start with Bain Ultra-Violet. If your hair feels dry, rough or tangles after lightening, start with the Cicaflash conditioner, then add a mask once a week.
