Best Sea-Salt & Texture Spray NZ (for Undone, Lived-In Hair)
That effortless, lived-in texture — beachy waves, gritty root lift, piece-y separation — almost never happens on clean, soft hair. It's built with the right texture spray.
Texturisers add grip and separation so hair holds a shape and looks intentional rather than flat. Here are the ones we use, by the finish you're after.
Beachy, tousled waves
Wella EIMI Ocean Spritz is a salt spray that gives that just-left-the-beach wave and matte texture. Spray on damp hair and scrunch, or mist on dry hair for instant grit. (NZ tip: salt sprays can be drying — follow with a little oil on the ends.)
Matte, undone texture
Sebastian Texture Maker is a matte-finish spray for instant lived-in separation without stickiness. For a more sculptable, reworkable texture, Sebastian Craft Clay gives pliable matte definition you can keep re-shaping through the day.
Root lift and volume-with-grip
Wella EIMI Sugar Lift adds body and a touchable hold at the roots — great for fine hair that needs both volume and texture. evo Builder's Paradise is a heat-reactivated working spray you can brush and rework as you style.
How to use them
- Less than you think. Build texture in light layers — you can always add more.
- For root lift, spray underneath at the roots and tousle with fingers.
- For waves, scrunch while spraying and don't brush after, or you'll lose the texture.
