The ghd Chronos Curve range is three wands at the same price ($272.00), and the only thing that changes is the barrel. Pick by the curl you want, not by the name.
| Wand | Ours | The curl you get |
|---|---|---|
| Classic tong (26mm) | $272.00 | Even, uniform, springy curls. Has a clamp, so it is the easiest to use. |
| Conical wand (28-23mm) | $272.00 | Tapered barrel, so tighter at the tip. Undone beachy waves. No clamp. |
| Max wand (38mm) | $272.00 | Big barrel. Loose, glossy, blow-out waves. Best on long hair. |
If you've never used a wand before
Buy the classic tong. The clamp holds the hair for you, which removes the single hardest part of learning to curl. The conical wand makes better waves but you have to hold the hair against a hot barrel, and everyone burns a finger learning.
Short hair?
Classic tong or conical. The 38mm max wand needs length to wrap around - on a bob it will barely bend the hair.
Do you need the Chronos version?
The Chronos Curve wands hold temperature more consistently than the older Curve range, which matters most if you are curling a full head. If you curl your fringe twice a week, the older wand is fine and cheaper.
