Wella Oil Reflections: The Salon Shine Secret (NZ Stylist Guide)
That glass-like shine you see on freshly blow-dried salon hair isn't only technique — a lot of it is the right oil-based care. Wella Oil Reflections is the range we use for it.
Shine is really about light bouncing off a smooth cuticle. Dull hair is rough and dehydrated, so light scatters. Oil Reflections smooths and hydrates with a blend including camellia and white tea, so hair reflects light instead of swallowing it.
The line-up
- Luminous Reveal Shampoo — a gentle, oil-infused cleanse that adds shine from the first wash without weighing hair down.
- Luminous Reboost Mask — a fast weekly mask for an instant smoothness-and-gloss hit.
- Reflective Oil (Light) — a finishing oil for fine-to-medium hair; a drop on damp or dry ends for shine without grease.
- Smoothening Treatment Oil — the richer pre-styling oil for thicker, frizz-prone hair; smooths and protects before you blow-dry.
How to get the glassy finish
- Use the lightest oil your hair will take — too much reads as greasy, not glossy.
- Apply the treatment oil to damp hair before blow-drying to smooth the cuticle as it dries.
- Finish a dry style with a tiny amount of the light oil on mid-lengths and ends only.
- A cool shot at the end of your blow-dry sets the cuticle flat — free shine.
