Sebastian Twisted: Curls That Hold Without the Crunch

Most curly hair isn't frizzy. It's dehydrated, and frizz is the symptom.

That's the thing we end up explaining most at the basin. People with waves and curls arrive having spent years fighting frizz with anti-frizz products, when what their hair actually needed was moisture, slip, and being left alone while it dried.

What "elastic curls" means

A healthy curl stretches and springs back. A dehydrated or damaged curl stretches and stays stretched — that's when the curl pattern goes limp, uneven, or turns into frizz halfway down.

Twisted is aimed at that elasticity. The range is moisture-heavy with enough conditioning agents to give real slip, which matters enormously for curls: detangling is where most curl damage happens.

The four pieces

Elastic Curls Shampoo (250ml)

Gentle and low-lather. Curly hair generally doesn't want a big foaming cleanse — that's where dryness starts. Focus it on the scalp and let it rinse through the lengths.

Elastic Curls Conditioner (250ml)

The slip is the point. Put it through the lengths and detangle in the shower, with conditioner in, using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb — never dry, never with a brush. This single habit change does more for curl quality than any product.

Elastic Curls Mask (150ml)

Weekly, or more often for coarse or colour-treated curls. Curly hair can take a lot more mask than straight hair; don't be shy with it.

Curl Magnifier Styling Cream (145ml)

The styler, and the piece that does the visible work. On soaking wet hair — not damp, wet — rake it through, then scrunch upwards. Applying curl cream to damp hair is the most common mistake and it's why people think curl creams don't work for them.

Drying it, which matters as much as the products

• Scrunch out excess water with a microfibre towel or an old cotton t-shirt. Never rub with a terry towel.
• Diffuse on low heat and low speed, or air-dry. High airflow blows the curl pattern apart.
• Don't touch it while it dries. Hands in wet curls is the number one cause of frizz.
• Once it's fully dry, scrunch out any crunch with your hands. The cast breaking is normal and intended.

Where it has limits

Very tight, coarse or high-porosity curls may want something richer than Twisted provides — the range is moisture-forward but it isn't a heavy butter system. And if your curls are frizzy because they're damaged rather than dry, moisture alone won't hold them together; start with Penetraitt and bring Twisted in once the hair is stronger.
