I was intimidated by the swanky salon when I first went looking for a hair stylist in Wanaka. I was correct about the swank but that did not translate into elitist or snobby. Nicole is fantastic and a natural at hair styling. I trust her judgement and leave happy every time. The rest of the staff are warm, helpful and really authentic. The posh surrounds and best view in town are just a cherry on the top.

Wonderful experience with Jaimie B at Ukiyo. I’m 71 with short very fine hair. Not the easier hair to deal with. She took time and did a brilliant job with a new (to me) Wella colour product and a great cut. Thank you Jaimie B

Mimi does my hair perfectly. She is a total blonde expert. I only get my hair done a few times a year and never have regrowth and love my colour the whole time. Best cut and colour I’ve had. Can’t recommend enough.

Had the absolute pleasure of mikaela fitting me in last minute for a colour and I couldn't be happier. I instantly felt confident in her skills and knew she could get me the colour somebody else previously failed to deliver. Having always had hairdressers in my family I've never had to branch out but since travelling I've found it hard to find a decent hairdresser that could get me to a nice blonde without killing my hair. But as soon as I spoke to Mikaela I knew she would smash it. Super friendly place and the salon is beautiful too! Surprised there's not more 5 star reviews for this place 🙌

Such a cool hair salon. Lovely stylists, very cool head massage and great coffee. So pleased I came here after my previous stylist stopped work for a while. Mikaela is the nicest lady.

Went in yesterday for a change and Cassie was amazing. She took the time to ask about my hair and usual routine to make sure the style I chose would suit. She did a phenomenal job. Love my new fringe! Thanks Cassie!!

Have had great experiences with cut and colour here for my thick curly hair. And the team are just the best, plus I've never had such a good view while getting my hair done.

I had a wonderful experience at Ukiyo! Nicole did my cut - she is lovely and really listened to what I wanted and gave great advice. Coran did a keratin relaxing treatment on my hair, which has transformed it from very dry/frizzy/curly to straight and sleek - it is truly amazing and saves me so much time getting ready now. Highly recommend!!

I got veryy thick long hair and have stuggled getting a cut that makes my hair feel light and layered but keeping the length! Big thanks to Mimi at Ukiyo who gave me the best haircut and blowdry ever honestly could not rate enough!

I got blonde foils here right before my wedding and it was honestly the best colouring I’ve ever had! Got so many compliments too!

What a great experience, I saw Cassie today and she was awesome 10/10. She understood what colour I was going for and her suggestion where spot on ! Am already booked in again !!! Everyone was so lovely and a great coffee to.
